- Health Benefit for SPAWN Members
SPAWN is now offering members an affordable alternative to expensive health insurance. This health plan is not insurance. It is a discount supplemental health benefits program providing discounts from 20% to 60% on health, dental, and chiropractic services, as well as vision services and products, and prescriptions. - SPAWNews
SPAWNews, the monthly SPAWN newsletter, presents a forum for ideas and information on subjects of interest to members. It also carries educational articles and notices of members' new releases, booksignings and other events. The Website includes the archive of articles from past newsletters. New newsletters are archived on the blog.

A directory of members including their addresses, telephone, fax and Email numbers and a brief description of their specialties is provided to each member to help facilitate networking.
- Book Fairs
SPAWN sometimes participates in book fairs and provides space on their table at a small fee for members to display their books. Catalog space is included at a reduced fee for those participating in a book festival. See the Events page on this site for upcoming events for SPAWN and other organizations. We have had SPAWN booths at the LA Times Festival of Books. We had a fabulous time and sold lots of books.
- Discounts on membership in other important literary organizations.
- Independent Book Publishers Association (formerly PMA) offers all SPAWN members a $30 discount on IBPA memberships. So if your normal rate to join is $119, as a SPAWN members, you may join IBPA for only $89.
- Small Publishers Association of North America (SPAN) offers all SPAWN members a $35 discount on SPAN memberships.
- Southern California Writers Association (SCWA) offers SPAWN members a $10 discount.
