Review by Patricia Fry

Here’s a book with a catchy title for business owners, speakers, workshop leaders, coaches, teachers and others who want to promote their business or expertise through a book. The purpose behind Publishize is to help you self-publish a book that will give you more credibility in your field. On her book cover, Daffron says, “Publishize is a hands-on guidebook for entrepreneurs who want to use self-publishing as a new revenue stream in their business.”

Who is Susan Daffron? She is the president of Logical Expressions, Inc., a book and software publishing company and the author of 11 books. Her experience as a writer, editor, graphic designer, web developer and, of course, self-publisher, has given her the background necessary to write this useful book.

While at first glance, this may seem like a basic book on how to self-publish, it is more than that. Sure, it provides you with what you need to know in order to enter into the world of self-publishing and marketing, but many of the ideas are designed specifically for the entrepreneur, professional and expert. Not only does the author give you the nuts and bolts of publishing and promotion, but she addresses many of the issues from an entrepreneurial perspective. I see that this book could be most helpful to those of you who wish to “publishize” as opposed to simply becoming an author.

I particularly like Daffron’s section on turning your book into an empire. Within this chapter, she talks about hiring a virtual assistant—why hire one, where to find one and how to choose the right one.

Are you an entrepreneur or a professional in your field? Would you like more exposure to your clients, customers, and patrons? Why not take a look at this book and consider putting your expertise in book form to share with your audience.
