Also known as Dr-Cat, Dr. Vanessa Spurll Catalan completed her B.Sc honours and M.Sc. in health behavior at University of Waterloo and her Ph.D in Epidemiology at McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine. She then undertook postdoctoral research in association with the Pharmaco-Epidemiology and Pharmaco-Economics Research Unit of University of Montreal’s Hospital Center. Dr. Vanessa Catalan has also been Adjunct Professor of Education at Lakehead University, and Assistant Professor in the Community Health Sciences Department at University of Manitoba. Dr-Cat’s publications to date have been in the peer-reviewed scientific literature and newspaper articles and letters. She has several health-related books in progress.
