Ventura Book Festival

by SusanDaffron on May 1, 2010

The Ventura Book Festival returns for its fifth year with a line-up of exhibitors, speakers, seminars, readings, and author signings on July 17, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the beach in Ventura, CA. The Festival is produced by the California Literary Arts Society (CLAS), a nonprofit organization created to promote literacy, the art of writing, the joy of reading, and the value of the written word.

“We are delighted to be returning this year with more education, more exhibitors, and activities for people of all ages,” states Mary Embree, CLAS founder and Executive Director. “Through the Book Festival we bring writers, illustrators, publishers, book sellers, literary consultants, and book lovers together to exchange ideas and information on the book publishing industry. California has the largest community of writers in the nation and a growing number of small publishers, which is creating a healthy publishing community. With the successes made in self-publishing and advances in digital delivery of books, there is a great deal to learn.”

Educational sessions will take place throughout the day. Speakers will include editors, publishers, authors, literary agents, marketing experts, and other professionals who will give advice and encouragement to the writing community. Seminars will cover the art, craft, and business of writing and selling books. A schedule of sessions and speakers will be announced after May 15. Advance registration for the educational programs will be available on our website: www.literaryarts-ca.org.

We will accept exhibitor reservations starting on April 15. As space is limited, we encourage exhibitors to sign up early. Exhibitor applications will also be available online.
